THE EXVO HOME GUIDELINES

EXVO HOME is currently in beta and we’re learning a lot each day.

As we open to a broader audience, we expect this document to evolve. Please check-in periodically for any updates. The most recent version of these guidelines as posted, shall prevail over any previous versions.

This outline is designed to help you better understand our Guidelines and Rules, including:

  • The principles that we think make EXVO HOME such a special place
  • The primary roles that users play in EXVO HOME
  • The rules we expect you to abide by as a EXVO HOME user
  • What you can do if you come across inappropriate behaviour

EXVO HOME Principles

EXVO HOME was designed to be a space for authentic conversation and expression—where people can have fun, learn, make meaningful connections, interact as closely as possible to real life and share rich experiences with others around the world.

Below are a few guiding principles that we believe are important for this purpose:

  • Be yourself. The authenticity of EXVO HOME begins and ends with the people.
  • Be respectful. This applies to every person, always.
  • Be inclusive. Tolerate, welcome, and consider diverse people and perspectives.
  • Build empathy and understanding. Engage in debates that are in good faith.
  • Build meaningful and genuine connections. This is what EXVO HOME is all about.

Please note that these principles are intended to be high-level guidelines only. If you’re interested in knowing what can get people kicked off EXVO HOME, please see the Rules sections below. 🙂

Roles

Use and interactions in EXVO HOME takes place in HOMES . Within each Home, each user will be assigned a role that can be either an Admin, a Speaker, or an Attendee. The initial Admin is assigned by us and as of such time such Admin is free to designate users with the different roles in its sole discretion. Allseated is not obligated to interfere with any elections made by the Admin.

Below is a short description of each role.

Admin

When you start a HOME, you are automatically assigned as the Admin of that HOME. This means you are in control of every aspect of your HOME. An Admin can broadcast within his HOME, manage the stage and backstage, invite speakers to speak, start and select the background music and much much more. We allow Admins full freedom to operate their HOME but we do reserve the right, in our discretion, with or without notice, to make any adjustments in an Admin privileges (or part thereof) in the event that we believe such Admin’s conduct is in breach of our guidelines and/or terms of use.

Speaker

Admins may, from time to time, invite speakers to convey messages or content to the Attendees. A Speaker can join the stage while it is closed and test its audio, video, pre-uploaded presentation or sharing screen functionalities before going live. Once stage is open, a Speaker will be permitted to present content to the Attendees, subject to the rules and limitations set by the Admin and our Rules. All content and messages provided by the Speaker must comply with these guidelines, the Rules and Allseated Terms of Use. We reserve the right to immediately suspend or revoke any Speaker status in the event it believes that a breach of the foregoing was made.

Attendees

Each user joining a HOME will be automatically receive muted Attendee status. Attendees may enjoy the content shared in such Home, use the chat, share emojis, join the queue for the Q&A and exercise such additional functionalities as shall be available to them from time to time. Some of these functionalities are subject to the discretion of the Admin or the Speaker. After the session, an Attendee may join the EXVO HOME Lobby, where it may interact with other EXVO HOME participants from other HOMES and see the great offers and content available in the Lobby.

THE “EXVO HOME” Rules

When you access or use EXVO HOME, you affirm your consent to the EXVO End User Terms And Conditions, Privacy Policy and Copyright Policy (collectively, the “Terms of Use”). If you do not agree to any of the foregoing, please do not access or use EXVO HOME. The foregoing applies to all users of EXVO HOME, regardless of the role assigned to them, and in all areas of EXVO HOME, including HOMES (whether private or public) and the Lobby. EXVO HOME shall be deemed to be part of the Allseated Services under the Terms of Use.

In order to allow us to develop an open and safe environment, by using EXVO HOME you agree to adhere to the following Rules in addition and without limiting your compliance with the Terms of Use:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use EXVO HOME (or older if required by your country).
  • You must use a real name or identity on the service.
  • You may not use EXVO HOME in connection with any activity which is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, excessively violent, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.
  • You may not discriminate against, engage in hateful conduct directed at, or threaten violence or harm against any person or groups of people.
  • You may not share, threaten to share, or incentivize the sharing of other people's private information without their prior written permission.
  • You may not engage in intentionally disruptive activity that negatively affects the experience of other users, the scraping or harvest of information from the EXVO HOME platform and/or automatically collect and store any information about EXVO HOME, its users or their activities.
  • You may not engage in unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, commercial activities and/or sales, “junk mail,” “spam,” “chain letters,” “pyramid schemes,” “contests,” “sweepstakes,” or any other form of solicitation.
  • You may not transcribe, record, collect, store, or otherwise reproduce and/or share information obtained in EXVO HOME (including, without limitations, talks, videos, chats, graphics, photos and any other content uploaded or made available by Allseated or other EXVO HOME users) without prior written permission of Allseated and the relevant Speakers. This also relates to information which you obtained from other Speakers who did not provide their consent to further disclosure of such information.
  • You may not engage in any conversations or upload any content that violates any intellectual property or other proprietary rights. Your interaction with the EXVO HOME system and any content you upload or make available through it is deemed to be End User Content as defined in the Terms of Use. You represent and warrant that you have (and will have) the necessary rights to use all such materials, videos, photos, content and/or other data posted, shared, made available or otherwise used by you as part of your participation in EXVO HOME.
  • You may not spread false information or spam, or artificially amplify or suppress information.
  • You may not share or promote information (or synthetic or manipulated media) that is intended or likely to cause harm to any person or groups of people, including minors.
  • You may not use EXVO HOME to advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose that is not specifically authorized in writing by Allseated.
  • You may not use the service for the purpose of conducting any activities which are in the sole judgment of Allseated, is objectionable or which restricts or inhibits any other person from using or enjoying EXVO HOME, or which may expose Allseated or its users to any harm or liability of any type.

You also agree not to encourage or assist others in activities which may violate the Terms of Use and the abovementioned Rules.

If you witness a violation of the Terms of Use and/or the abovementioned Rules, please follow the instructions below to report it.

Safety

Allseated is committed to maintaining EXVO HOME as a safe and productive environment for gatherings and the exchange of ideas. Below are the recommended courses of action if you encounter an actual or suspected breach of a Rule or the Terms of Use (“Breach Incident”).

Incident Reporting

Allseated is not obligated to monitor or track participants content shared over the EXVO HOME platform. Therefore, we welcome the vigilance of each user to report a Breach Incident. If you believe a Breach Incident occurred, you can report such incident to our support team [exvohome@allseated.com] or contacting us through our live support in EXVO. Please note that inappropriate use of the incident reporting system or intentional, false reports are against our Rules and are taken seriously.

If you submit a Breach Incident, we will not share your identity with the person you reported. All Breach Incident that are submitted will be reviewed and investigated. The need for and type of corrective or disciplinary action needed will be determined by Allseated on a case-by-case basis. We may share with you information about the process and outcome of the investigation. We seek to be fair, consistent, and responsive in addressing all reported Breach Incidents. If the violation directly targeted you, we may share certain information about the process and resolution with you (e.g., the stage of investigation, any concerns that you may be at risk for immediate harm, information on how the resolution could impact you). Intentional, false reports of Breach Incidents are treated as a violation of the Rules.

If a Breach Incident has been filed against you, we may contact you through the content details you provided to us with information about the nature of the report. We may keep some details private in order to protect the reporting user(s). We also may restrict or suspend your account access and use of the platform temporarily until our investigation is completed. We will notify you of the result of the investigation and its potential impact to you. If you believe a report of a Breach Incident has been falsely filed against you or you would like to appeal a decision, please contact us, including as much context as possible. Any attempt to retaliate against users who participate in reporting or investigation of a Breach Incident is a violation of the Rules.

Content Moderation

If someone has not violated any of the Rules, but you would still prefer not to interact with them, here are some tools you can utilize.

EXVO HOME Admins decide who is in a HOME and can speak:

  • Accept or reject Speakers: If you are a HOME Admin you decide who can speak. If you’d like to invite someone from the audience to the stage, they must accept your invitation. If someone else requests to go on the stage through the Q&A or the chat, you do not have to allow them on stage if you do not wish to do so.
  • Mute or remove Speakers: HOME Admins can take-over a display from any Speaker, remove a Speaker from the backstage, mute and unmute the Speakers and move them back to the audience.
  • Remove from EXVO HOME: If someone is being disruptive or distressing to people in the HOME, HOME Admins can remove them, and they will no longer see or be able to re-enter the HOME.

Anyone can decide who they interact with:

  • You may tap on any avatar in the HOME to call them and invite them to a 1-1 or a up to 17 participants video call with a unique color.
  • You can decline any call requests by simply declining a call or letting 10 second run by. The caller will be notified that you are “Busy”. You may accept or decline calls as you see fit and without limitations. If you are being harassed again and again to accept a call, click on the live support chat side panel button and our support would be there to help.

Consequences of Breach of Rules

In addition to the remedies entitled to Allseated under applicable law and/or the Terms of Use, please note that in the event that your account is flagged for a potential violation of our Rules (whether for a Breach Incident or otherwise), your account may be temporarily or permanently restricted or suspended from the platform, with or without notice. We reserve the right to suspend access to or remove any user from a HOME and/or the Lobby for actual or suspected Breach Incident, as determined in our sole discretion, with or without notice.

If you believe your account did not violate our Rules or the Terms of Use, you may appeal by contacting our support through the Email or our 24/7 live support chat . Please include your EXVO HOME username, verified email address, and reference to the original decision notification you received. Please keep the following in mind when submitting an appeal:

  • Decision appeals must originate from the user who received the notice.
  • Allseated does not accept nor consider appeals on behalf of another user.
  • Submitting multiple appeals concurrently may result in a delay in review.

Once you submit the appeal, Allseated will decide, in its sole discretion, whether or not to review it based on the violation in question. All decisions regarding an incident or an appeal shall be made at the discretion of Allseated. Allseated shall be entitled to determine the appropriate consequence of Rules violation. These are examples of potential consequences for Rules violations (non-exhaustive):

  • Provide a warning for a first offense of low severity and impact.
  • Request the removal of or directly remove offending content.
  • Restrict the ability to participate in some or all sessions.
  • Temporarily or permanently disable or remove the account.
  • Notify law enforcement when there is risk of physical harm or a threat to public safety.

Consequences for confirmed violations may vary based on the type and severity of the violation, the impact to victim(s), the historical actions of the offending user, and the intent of the actions.

Legal note

Finally, please keep in mind this legal note on the Rules, violations, and how we may enforce them:

  • You are solely responsible for your interactions with our platform and other EXVO HOME users and you agree that we will have no liability or responsibility with respect to those interactions. You shall be held solely liable for your acts or omissions. You shall indemnify and hold us and our employees, officers, subcontractors, agents, affiliates and successors harmless against any damage, liability, loss and/or other payment of any kind (including, without limitation, any fees, fines, awards and, including any attorney fees), which is based on your acts or omissions, including, without limitation, failure to comply with the Rules or our instructions.
  • Content and information provided and disseminated by users of EXVO HOME shall not be deemed solicited or endorsed by Allseated. Under no circumstances will Allseated be liable in any way for any content or materials of any third parties (including users), including, but not limited to, for any errors or omissions in any content, or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any such content. You acknowledge that Allseated does not pre-screen or monitor content, but that Allseated and its designees will have the right (but not the obligation) in their sole discretion to refuse or remove any content that is available via EXVO HOME. Without limiting the foregoing, Allseated and its designees will have the right to remove any content that violates the Rules or is deemed by Allseated, in its sole discretion, to be otherwise objectionable. You agree that you must evaluate, and bear all risks associated with, the use of any content, including any reliance on the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of such content.
  • EXVO HOME is at the beta stage and is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitations, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Allseated does not warrant that use of the EXVO HOME platform shall be uninterrupted or error free or that it will meet users expectation or requirements. Access and use of the EXVO HOME is at responsibility of the user. The disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability and indemnification provisions set forth in the Terms of Use are incorporated herein by way of reference and shall apply to your use of the EXVO HOME platform.
  • Allseated may, but is not obligated to, preserve content and may also disclose content if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with legal process, applicable laws or government requests; (b) enforce the Rules and/or the Terms of Use; (c) respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third parties; or (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Allseated, its users and the public. Use of any such content shall be made according to our privacy policy.
  • Our failure to enforce these rules in each and every instance in which it might have application does not amount to a waiver of our rights under our Terms of Use or these Rules.
  • We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to change portions of the Rules at any time. If we do this, we will post the changes on this page and will indicate at the top of this page the date these terms were last updated.
  • The governing law and dispute resolution provisions set forth in the Terms of Use shall apply to this Rules and your use of the EXVO HOME.
