Fall Event Trends

We recently asked Lindsay, the creative director and president of Lindsay Landman Events, to tell us what is trending in events this Fall and here’s what she said:
- Bring the Outside In
With cooler temperatures and less access to outdoor space, couples are going to greater lengths to bring the outdoors in. What was once the “rustic” trend has really grown into something bigger – literally!
We are covering ceilings in loose green garlands, trading in traditional floral centerpieces for nearly life-sized trees, creating bandstand backdrops and escort card displays out of every type of leaf and tree imaginable.
- Color is BACK
I am thrilled to report that after a long color draught (let’s call it the champagne years!), rich and vibrant colors have returned to wedding color palettes across the board.
We have lots of interest in colors in both the peach/orange families as well as the dark burgundy/eggplant purple families and I’m loving it!
- Old comfort food is new again
If I never see another slider or mini grilled cheese it will be too soon, but I am happy to report that soup and pie – REAL comfort foods – are making their way into wedding menus.
For an upcoming fall wedding we are featuring a soup station at a seaside cocktail hour and a seasonal fruit pie cart later in the night. The warmth and heartiness of these old-time favorites are perfect for fall fetes.
